Fandom: Naruto
Characters: Hyuuga Neji, Hyuuga Hiashi, Hyuuga Hinata
Genre: Tragedy, Family
Rating/Status: PG-13 / 724 words, complete
Summary: The old are supposed to protect the young. A rewrite of chapter 614.

Author's Note: Spoilers for the most recent manga chapter, 614. Written because it isn't so hard picturing this happening instead of that thing Kishimoto gave us.

Applicable prompts: [ profile] 500themes, #426 - A tale rewritten.

Fandom: Ao no Exorcist / Blue Exorcist
Characters: Okumura Rin, Okumura Yukio
Rating/Status: PG / 686 words, complete
Summary: Growing up, Yukio may have been able to see things Rin couldn't see, but there were also plenty of things Rin could see that Yukio couldn't. Pre-series.

Author's Note: I haven't kept up with the manga for a few months now, so I don't know if canon managed to disprove any aspect of this fic since then. I wrote it back in March, and it was originally supposed to be a part of a longer fic, but I gave up on the idea and decided to post the snippet as a standalone scene. Takes place pre-series, some unspecified time early on when Rin and Yukio were young children.

Applicable prompts: [ profile] 500themes, #151 - When eyes believe in mysteries.

Fandom: Hikaru no Go
Characters: Touya Akira, Shindou Hikaru, Fujiwara no Sai (background)
Rating/Status: G / 580 words, complete
Timeline: Undefined future, probably a few years after end of series.
Summary: For a phantom, Sai felt very real. He was always there, his presence stronger than any solid person could ever hope to be. And for someone he had never met, Akira had begun to think he knew Sai better than he knew most people.

Author's Note: Done a few days ago over at the Hikago May 5th Comment Fic Fest on Dreamwidth. The theme I wrote for was 'There stands the shadow of a glorious name.' I came across it about 3 hours before the deadline and ended up with this. My first Hikago fanfic ever... and 555 words just because I can. :D Revised it for a naming decision and ended up adding a few more words. :p

Fandom: NANA
Characters: Ren/Nana, Oosaki Nana POV
Rating/Status: G / 625 words, complete
Timeline: Some time after Nana moves to Tokyo, and BLAST forms anew. Exactly when is a bit murky, but no spoilers for any specific bits.
Summary: All she ever wanted was to be just Ren and Nana, without parenthesis.

Author's Notes: Written on a whim for the 04/18/2006 challenge, "(in parenthesis)" at [ profile] 31_days. It was my first attempt at writing a NANA fic - quite unplanned but it popped up out of the nowhere the moment I saw the theme, which resulted in super speed writing all in one go at the last few minutes of the theme day.

Fandom: Naruto
Characters: Shikamaru/Temari
Rating/Status: PG / 769 words, complete
Timeline: Probably during or after the time skip.
Summary: Temari realizes some things quite suddenly and unexpectedly.

Author's Note: Digging around my computer sometimes yields the strangest things I've forgotten about... in this case, some really really old fics I tried my hands at and never really thought was good enough to post at the time. Here's one of them, written almost two years ago on May 6th, 2006. *_* Reading it again now, I'm reminded of why I stopped writing ShikaTema even though I love the pairing to death. I really have a knack for writing boring fics on the two. -_-;

Characters: Gaara/Sakura (subtle)
Rating/Status: G / 500 words, complete
Timeline: Post time-skip, likely right after the Gaara-rescue mission
Summary: Actions speak louder than words. Or in Gaara's case, sand speaks the loudest.

Author's Note: The last paragraph of this fic was actually written on a scrap piece of paper almost a year ago. I accidentally found the paper earlier today, hence the birth of this ficlet. I'll warn you now that the style is littered with tons of run-on (and probably grammatically incorrect) sentences. It's also angst-free, nothing deep, and with a likelihood of OOC. :D Written very quickly, without much editing, but all in good fun. It is, however, the first Gaara/Sakura anything that I've ever shared with the public though. Can't help feeling a little nervous about that.

Rating/Status: G / 895 words, complete
Theme Prompt: "Nao and Mo playing house as children."
Written for [ profile] lovadevil

Author's Note: Cookie time! A bit crack-ish, but I hope it'll be an enjoyable read anyway. :) I'll say the "playing house" theme took quite an unexpected turn here. I really hadn't intended to torture Mo this much (and in this manner). ^^;

Fandom: Naruto
Pairing: Shikamaru/Temari
Rating/Status: G / 606 words, complete
Timeline: Open for after the Sasuke retrieval arc (around manga ch.238+). No spoilers.
Summary: Shikamaru thinks that, for once, it was probably best he did nothing at all.

Author's Notes: More ShikaTema (with a cheesy title). :p This one came out of nowhere and just sorta dribbled out without any proper refinement or editing. All in all, I guess it's just another exploration of a "moment" between the two. It's probably too wordy, quite cliche, and a tad bit boring... and it also doesn't have any dialogue again. Rather below the kind of standard I usually try to set for myself, but I'm trying to break into a new kind of writing and this will have to do for now. >_>;
